PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device for a construction machine which effectively reduces lug-down occurring upon an increase of the required load of an engine.SOLUTION: The engine control device for a construction machine drives a hydraulic pump 13 for supplying working fluid to a working machine 3 with an output of an engine 10, and feed-back controls an amount of fuel injection of the engine 10 on the basis of a deviation between the actual number of revolutions and a target number of revolutions. The engine control device comprises: a required load calculation unit 22 for calculating the output of the engine 10 necessary for driving the hydraulic pump 13 in accordance with the operation of the working machine 3 as a required load; and a feed-forward control unit 32 for adding an amount of fuel injection addition which is set in advance in accordance with the required load to the amount of fuel injection of the engine 10 when the required load is calculated by the required load calculation part 22.
