PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify operation relating to output of at least one of video and sound.SOLUTION: An output method comprises the steps of: receiving a notification representing reception of a radio wave from a portable apparatus, from one of plural output apparatuses; and causing the output apparatus having received the radio wave to restart both or either of suspended image output and sound output. At a stage when a user carrying the portable apparatus approaches the output apparatus, both or either of suspended image output and sound output are automatically restarted, thereby enabling the user to keep viewing without operation.
