The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrode assembly having a high degree of freedom of shape in the thickness direction. Negative electrodes and positive electrodes are alternately laminated across separation membranes in the electrode assembly. In the electrode assembly, N (N is a natural number equal to or greater than two) electrode laminated bodies in which electrodes having the same area are laminated across the separation membranes are laminated, and the areas of the electrodes are different between the adjacent electrode laminated bodies. The first electrode laminated body is an electrode laminated body in which a unit cell is laminated with an odd number of electrodes, and the electrode laminated body that is laminated on the first electrode laminated body is an electrode laminated body in which a unit cell is laminated with an even number of electrodes.
