PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation failure notification method and device capable of reducing performing of unnecessary operation failure notification for a seated person.SOLUTION: The operation failure notification method comprises steps of: a determination step for determining whether the vehicle 20 is stopped in a target area classified into a determined category or not when operation failure of equipment in the vehicle 20 is detected after stopping of the vehicle 20; and a notification step for notifying operation failure to a terminal of a seated person only when the vehicle 20 is determined that the vehicle 20 has stopped outside of the target area by the determination step.
