PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a reduction in productivity of double-sided printing, when a factor occurs in which images cannot be arranged on an image holding body in double-sided printing and the images are arranged by shifting the positions of the images on the image holding body.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an inversion unit that inverts the front and rear sides of a recording medium after an image is formed on one face, in an image forming unit that determines a start position of image formation on the basis of a predetermined rotational phase angle of an image holding body; and a circulation conveying unit for conveying the recording medium inverted in front and rear sides to the image forming unit again. When image forming processing of performing double-sided image formation continuously to the recording medium is interrupted in the course of a job, a start timing of the image formation is determined on the basis of the number of recording media used in the job. |
