PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a series multiplex matrix converter capable of continuing a power conversion operation even when an AC power supply has its voltage dropped.SOLUTION: The series multiplex matrix converter according to an embodiment comprises a control unit for performing power conversion control by controlling a power conversion unit separately connected to an AC power supply. The control unit has a first drive control unit for performing power conversion control by turning a plurality of unidirectional switching elements constituting a bidirectional switch together on, and a second drive control unit for performing power conversion control by turning the plurality of unidirectional switching elements constituting the bidirectional switch partly on. |
