PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy plate for printing plates capable of improving uniformity of a surface roughening treatment of the surface by electrolytic etching and its production method.SOLUTION: A method of producing an aluminum alloy plate for printing plates plate having a plate thickness of 0.1-0.5 mm is based on hot rolling and cold rolling of an aluminum alloy containing 0.02-0.3% Si, 0.1-0.6% Fe, restricted ingredients comprising 0.20% or less Cu, 0.10% or less Zn and 0.05% or less Ti, and the remainder comprising 99.00% or more Al and other unavoidable impurities. The hot rolling is carried out by a plurality of times of rolling passes, and, in the last three rolling passes until the completion of hot rolling, an initiation temperature of 260-400°C, an initiation plate thickness of 25-45 mm and a hot rolling completion temperature of 200-350°C are set. The set conditions give a distribution state in which intermetallic compounds of an equivalent circle diameter of 0.35-3 μm are distributed at a density of 7-100 grains/(30 μm)in the surface layer. |
