Provided is a dental material having a high sintered body density, high strength, color appearance extremely close to that of a tooth and excellent light transmissibility, particularly a pink-colored zirconia sintered body having a color and light transmissibility at levels suitable for use as a mill blank or an orthodontic bracket and also having highly beautiful appearance. Provided are: a colored light-transmitting zirconia sintered body which comprises 2 to 4 mol% of yttria, 0.02 to 0.8 mol% of Er2O3, an iron compound in an amount of 20 ppm or more and less than 2000 ppm in terms of Fe2O3 content, 0.005 wt% or more and less than 0.2 wt% of Al2O3 and a remainder made up by zirconia, and has a brightness value (L*), a value (a*) and a value (b*), which are chromatic parameters as defined in accordance with JIS-Z8729, are 55 to 75, 0 to 10 and 0 to 30, respectively, a relative density of 99.80% or more, and a total light transmittance of 18 to 40% inclusive as measured at a sample thickness of 1 mm using a D65 light source; and others. |
