PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage battery that suppresses reduction in low temperature high rate discharge performance even when a carbon content in a negative electrode active material is large.SOLUTION: The lead storage battery contains: a negative electrode active material having spongy lead as a main component; a positive active material having lead dioxide as a main component; and an electrolyte having sulfuric acid as a main component, wherein the negative electrode active material contains carbon, lignin, and alginic acid monovalent salt. |
