The crimping press has press housing and a vertically movable column (3), at which C-shaped speed change receptacles are provided for sliding in and mounting of the relatively displaced units of a crimping tool. Guidance faces comprise a column on all sides. The column is supported on the press housing by a spindle drive (5) retained in the interior. The C-shaped receptacles are mounted radially outside the virtual extension of the guidance faces and the press housing at cantilevers of the columns and press housing that are projecting traverse to the movement direction.
