When producing the ribose using a recombinant E. coli transformed to lose the enzyme function of transketolase A, transketolase B, and PtsG, in case of using the medium comprising xylose and glucose at the ratio of 3:5-5:3, the product concentration and yield, and the productivity are improved more.
