PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of enhancing an adhesive property between a seal member and an electrolyte membrane.SOLUTION: A fuel cell includes: a first catalyst layer; an electrolyte membrane disposed so that at least a portion of the peripheral part of one surface thereof exposing outward beyond the peripheral part of the first catalyst layer; a second catalyst layer disposed on another surface of the catalyst layer; a first gas diffusion layer connected to the first catalyst layer: a second gas diffusion layer connected to the second catalyst layer; a first separator disposed on the first gas diffusion layer side; a second separator disposed on the second gas diffusion layer side; and a seal member sandwiched between the first separator and the second separator, having an acid denaturation thermoplastic resin on the surface thereof. The seal member includes an adhesive joint part having an acid denaturation thermoplastic resin added with epoxy resin for adhering to at least a part of the exposed portion of the electrolyte membrane. |
