PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple function monitoring device of a shift-by-wire system, in which an erroneous operation of an actuator can be appropriately prevented even if an abnormality occurs at a control part of an actuator operation.SOLUTION: The function monitoring device is installed in the shift-by-wire system having a shift lever 11, the SBW actuator 21 and an ECU 30. The ECU 30 includes: a main microcomputer 31 for outputting a switching command signal CM1, and also outputting a connection control signal CM2 according to the switching command signal; a sub-microcomputer 32 for outputting a drive signal to the SBW actuator 21 so as to make the actuator execute a switching operation, according to the switching command signal CM1; and a drive signal cut circuit 33 which is switched to a block state and a connection state according to the connection control signal CM2 between the sub-microcomputer 32 and the SBW actuator 21, and blocks the drive signal from the sub-microcomputer 32 while being brought into the block state when the switching command signal CM1 is not output from the main microcomputer 31. |
