A control method for receiving output voltage by controlling a portable computer and an adaptor of the portable computer is provided to optimize cost and space of a notebook computer by reducing a battery charger for charging the received voltage and an FET(Field Effect Transistor) for controlling supply. An adapter(200) applies power to a portable computer. A controller(170) supplies output voltage needed for the portable computer by controlling the adaptor. An adapter interface(110) detects connection with the adaptor and receives the output voltage from the adaptor. A DC/DC converter(120) distributes the power to each system of the portable computer. A plurality of batteries(130) are charged by using the received output voltage and supply internal charged voltage to the system. A battery manager(150) detects a state of the batteries. An output unit(160) displays a battery charging state detected by the battery manager. A controller(220) adjusts the output voltage applied to the portable computer based on a control signal. |
