The present invention relates to an assembly of a male terminal and a female terminal (100), the female terminal (100) consisting of an elongated box-shaped body having : -a front opening (108), -a contact point (112) establishing electrical contact with the male terminal, and -a retention arm (126) establishing a mechanical contact with the male terminal and thus holding the male terminal inside the female terminal. A force applied by the contact point (112) on the male terminal is smaller than a force applied by the retention arm(126) to the male terminal.
