The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for enhancing security of a vehicle communication network. The present invention provides the apparatus for enhancing the security of the vehicle communication network including a receiving device and a gateway module. The gateway module includes a decoding unit for generating a third message by decoding a second message of a first message received through a channel, to which the receiving device is connected, and the second message, which is an encoded message of the first message, to determine the validity of the receiving device; a control unit for determining if the first message is a set message to verify security, after confirming the receiving device is a set receiving device having the validity if the first message is determined as being identical to the third message as it is determined if the first message is identical to the third message; and a routing unit for routing the first message to any one established channel among a plurality of connected channels if the first message is determined as being the set message so that the security is verified.
