<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve sufficient low consumption power while maintaining high detection accuracy of a passage position in a mobile type GPS receiver.SOLUTION: Map data stores, as a check position, each corner of a running course in which distance data and position data are defined in advance. In a section from the position a predetermined distance before a distance corresponding to each check position to this check position, the process of calculating the distance of movement of a user (runner) and the process of determining that the user has turned at the corner used to determine the reach of the check position are performed based on positioning data from a GPS receiving part or a sensor signal from a motion sensor part. At the check position, the distance of the movement and the current position are corrected so as to correspond to prescribed distance data and position data on the course. In sections other than that section, operation of the GPS receiving part is stopped. Based on a sensor signal from the motion sensor part, the distance of movement of the user is calculated by addition.</p> |
