The present invention relates to a reactor assembly for the catalytic polymerization of olefin monomer and optionally comonomer(s) comprising at least one fluidized bed reaction unit comprising an internal moving bed reaction unit, wherein the internal moving bed reactor unit is separated from the fluidized bed reaction unit by at least one substantially vertical wall wherein said at least one substantially vertical wall extends beyond the upper level of the fluidized bed and said internal moving bed reaction unit has at least one inlet for introducing polymer particles into said internal moving bed reaction unit from the fluidized bed and at least one outlet for withdrawing polymer particles from said internal moving bed reaction unit into said fluidized bed reaction unit and the use of said reactor assembly for the polymerization of an olefin polymer.
