<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device capable of preventing the occurrence of white sport defects due to friction between a lens row of a light guide body rear surface and a light reflection element and a breakage of the lens array and capable of achieving a display device having a superior image display quality and optical characteristics, in spite of thinning of the surface light source device, and to provide a light guide body to be used in the device. <P>SOLUTION: The light guide body 4 of a platy shape includes a light incident end face 41, a light-emitting face 43, and a rear face 44. In a region of at least a part of the rear face 44, there are formed a plurality of lens arrays 44a aligned in parallel extending to cross in nearly right angles with the light incident end face 41. A basic form of the lens array 44a in a cross-section crossing in almost right angles with the extension direction of the lens array 44a is made of an assembly of elemental arcs of 3 pieces or more and 10 or less. An aspect ratio of an array pitch P1 of the lens array 44a divided by the height of the lens array 44a is 7-200. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
