<p>According to one embodiment, an ultrasonic probe includes a transducer element, a backing material, and a buffer layer. The transducer element vibrates to transmit and receive an ultrasonic wave. The buffer layer is provided on the back side of the transducer element. The backing material is provided on the back side of the buffer layer and damps an ultrasonic wave from the transducer element.
