The present invention relates to an apparatus for assisting childbirth. The apparatus for assisting childbirth according to the present invention includes: a measurement unit which measures a status of mother including the mother′s breathing; an input unit which receives an input of mother status information that is one among the latent phase, active phase, and transitional phase of the first stage or the second stage according to the Lamaze method from a health care provider such as a doctor or a nurse, based on opening of the uterus; a graph generation unit which generates a graph of target respiration corresponding to the latent phase, active phase, and transitional phase of the first stage and the second stage, according to the measured status of mother measured by the measurement unit; a control unit which controls synchronization between the graph of target respiration generated by the graph generation unit and a graph of actual respiration of mother measured by the measurement unit, and output of a synchronized graph on a screen; and a display unit which displays, on the screen, the graph synchronized by the control unit. The apparatus for assisting childbirth according to the present invention as described above can synchronize a graph indicating target respiration according to the Lamaze method with a graph indicating actual respiration of mother and can display a synchronized graph on a screen, thereby guiding the mother to respire while checking whether the mother currently follows the Lamaze method properly through the graph. |
