A wireless communication device includes: a transmitter/receiver (11) configured to perform wireless communication including carrier sense; a counter (121) configured to count the number of carrier sense executions and the number of times of erroneous carrier sense in the carrier sense; and a determiner (122) configured to determine that an abnormal situation has not occurred in the carrier sense when a ratio of the number of times of the erroneous carrier sense to the number of carrier sense executions is less than a predetermined threshold value, whereas that the abnormal situation has occurred in the carrier sense when the ratio is greater than or equal to the predetermined threshold value.
