The method comprises depositing sulfur in a machining oil, introducing machining oil through an integrated circuit into a cooling housing in which the oil is selectively cooled and the sulfur is allowed to settle and mechanically separated from the oil. The oil is passed through cooling fins and non-woven mats. The non-woven mats are arranged between the cooling fins in the cooling housing. A cooling medium is provided on an outer wall (37) and/or on a bottom plate of the housing. The working oil is cooled to a temperature of 5-15[deg] C, and is supplied to the circuit. An independent claim is included for a treatment system.
