The seal structure has a metallic seat ring that is provided with a symmetry axis and an elastomeric seal portion. A sealing lip of the elastomeric seal portion is cured-on the metallic seat ring. The metallic seat ring is provided with a single-sided stepped groove, such that the elastomeric seal portion is cured-on the groove. The wall of groove is arranged in parallel to the symmetry axis of metallic seat ring. The seal portion is made of fluoroelastomer (FPM). An independent claim is included for a ball valve.
