Disclosed is a frictional resistance device which has a lock-up device (LUD) or a damper function without having any cylinder, silicone putty or silicone fluid; does not leak any packing material; is easy to limit the braking load of a train between 3-10 mm from the start in the horizontal displacement in a longitudinal direction of a bridge deck, and is not subjected to temperature changes. The frictional resistance device, which is disposed between a first structure and a second structure moves relatively in the longitudinal direction with respect to the first structure and includes: a wedge member having first and second wedge surfaces whereby the distance gradually narrows therebetween; at least one of the first and second wedge surfaces disposed on an incline with respect to the vertical surface perpendicular to the longitudinal direction; a first frictional member disposed on the first structure to support the wedge member in a state of being surface-contacted with the first wedge surface; and a second frictional member disposed on the second structure to support the wedge member on the opposite side to the first frictional member in the state of being surface-contacted with the second wedge surface. |
