PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component holding head of a surface mounting device which can reduce the number of components and hardly generates backlash while securing the vertical cushioning action required for a shaft.SOLUTION: In a component holding head of a surface mounting device, after being positioned in a shaft housing 23 of a head body 10, a shaft 20 is attached so as to be capable of being ascended and descended, and being rotated around the axis, and a component holding tool 30 to hold a component is attached to the lower end of the shaft. The holding tool 30 is fixed to the lower end of the shaft 20, and on the upper side than the shaft housing 23, a cushioning member 29 is provided which applies repulsive elastic force to ascending of the shaft 20. |
