#CMT# #/CMT# Liquid nutrient medium comprises (in parts by wt.) yeast extract (10-20), peptone (15-30), mono- and disaccharides (35-75), minerals (3), stable gelling agent (0.02-1), and water. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The nutrient medium is useful for: microbiological screening in the field of brewing; in the food industry e.g. in the beverage industry for producing non-alcoholic beverages and its base materials; in the animal feed industry; in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries; and in diagnostics area (all claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The nutrient medium is stable at 4-8[deg] C for at least 365 days (claimed), screens the microorganisms in a rapid and labor free manner, and is easy to handle. #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The mono- and disaccharides comprise maltose, dextrose, sucrose, and fructose. The nutrient medium is present in the form of gel, which is stable at 4-8[deg] C for at least 365 days. The stable gelling agent is gellan. Preferred Composition: The nutrient medium additionally comprises lactic acid (1-10 parts by wt.) or its salts (lactate) in equivalent quantities. The nutrient medium is autoclaved or alternatively ultra heat treated. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# Dry matter (prepared by mixing mono- and disaccharides (70%), minerals (2%), yeast extract (14%), peptone (15.1%) and gellan (0.9%)) (5 parts) was mixed with water (95 parts) to obtain the liquid nutrient medium.
|
