[Class 12 (i)] A bearing with inner and outer bearing members 2a, 1a, such as the inner and outer races of a ball bearing, has the space e therebetween closed to exclude dirt and to retain lubricant by means of a radially resilient sheet metal closure member 8a of bowed form in section with the concavity disposed towards the balls and having an outwardly flared resilient flange 10a which is sprung into a shouldered groove 7a on one of the bearing members 1a and which butts on such shoulder 14a. The closure member may have a felt or rubber backing 13 bonded thereto and extending at its inner periphery into close proximity to a reduced diameter portion 9a of the inner race.
