Initiating successive image capture on a digital camera, detecting a user input gesture on a graphical user interface (GUI) via a touch screen and adjusting the capture frame rate according to the user input gesture. Burst mode, slow-motion or time-lapse video imaging modes may be used. Gestures may also control camera exposure, aperture, focusing, light metering or white balance. User input may be horizontal, vertical or circular free movement gestures with graphical indications such as virtual sliders, rotary control knobs and levers represented on the GUI. Gesture direction and magnitude may be based on a predefined path. A mobile terminal or portable electronic device, such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop computer, DSLR or compact camera may be used. The system allows switching between photo and video modes whilst continuing to capture images, for example changing between capturing digital images, digital video and digital slow motion video. User input gestures may comprise lines and curves with any shapes such as arcs and curves with multi-directional paths. |
