A probe for detecting a polymorphism in exon 12 of the JAK2 gene, the probe comprising at least one of the oligonucleotides in (a) to (c) below:
(a) an oligonucleotide having a nucleotide sequence homologous to the sequence complementary to a nucleotide sequence having a length of 19 to 50 nucleotides containing the nucleotides 114 to 132 of SEQ ID NO:1;
(b) an oligonucleotide having a nucleotide sequence homologous to the sequence complementary to a nucleotide sequence having a length of 22 to 50 nucleotides containing the nucleotides 122 to 143 of SEQ ID NO:1; and
(c) an oligonucleotide having a nucleotide sequence homologous to a nucleotide sequence having a length of 10 to 50 nucleotides containing the nucleotides 41 to 50 of SEQ ID NO:11.
