PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool solving inconvenience caused when a machine is automatically stopped because of a life management function of a tool in the absence of an operator and an expected number of finished products are not secured. SOLUTION: The machine tool 1 includes: a processing means U1 processing a workpiece W1; a preset part U2 for which the number of use meeting a life of the tool T1 is set; a counting means U3 counting the number of processing on the workpiece W1 by the tool T1; a time counting part U4 counting a current time Tn; and a stop permission time zone setting part U5 wherein a stop permission time zone Ta permitting stop of processing on the workpiece W1 is set; and a control means U6. The control means U6 makes the processing means U1 stop processing if the current time Tn is within the stop permission time zone Ta when the counted number of processing reaches the set number of use, and if the current time Tn is outside the stop permission time zone Ta, outputs the fact that the number of processing by the tool reaches the set number of use and makes the processing means U1 stop processing after the current time Tn reaches the stop permission time zones Ta.
