PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer ceramic electronic component.SOLUTION: A multilayer ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic body having a dielectric layer, first and second internal electrodes arranged to face each other via the dielectric layer in the ceramic body, a first external electrode connected electrically with the first internal electrode and a second external electrode connected electrically with the second internal electrode. The first and second external electrodes contain a conductive metal and glass, and further contain a second phase substance occupying the area of 1-80% for the glass area in the first and second external electrodes.
