<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission apparatus for vehicles which can avoid corotation of a ring gear with rotation of wheels and enables improvement of the vehicle running performance by carrying out power distribution control of right and left wheels.SOLUTION: An ADD mechanism 7 and a motor generator 8 are arranged between a front differential device 41 and a right front wheel 4R in a four-wheel drive vehicle based on rear-wheel drive. In a two-wheel drive mode, corotation is avoided by releasing the ADD mechanism 7 so as to stop the rotation of a ring gear 43 fixed to the front differential device 41. In a four-wheel drive mode, the ADD mechanism 7 is engaged: in left turning, a normal rotation direction torque is output from the motor generator 8 to increase the driving power of the right front wheel 4R; and, in right turning, a reverse rotation direction torque is output from the motor generator 8 to increase the driving power of the left front wheel 4L.</p> |
