PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crack depth measurement method and a crack depth measurement apparatus for directly measuring depth of a crack in a metal component.SOLUTION: An eddy current testing measurement apparatus 11 performs eddy current testing measurement of a member having a plurality of cracks of known volume with the same material as a member W to be measured, and calculates in advance "eddy current output-crack volume relation l" which is a relation between an output value of the eddy current testing measurement and a volume for the corresponding crack, to be stored in a storage device 14. The eddy current testing measurement apparatus 11 performs eddy current testing measurement of a surface of the member W to be measured. An arithmetic operation apparatus 13 calculates a volume V of the crack to be generated on the surface of the member W on the basis of the output value of the eddy current testing measurement and the "eddy current output-crack volume relation l". An image processing apparatus 12 captures an image of the surface of the member W. The arithmetic operation apparatus 13 calculates area of the crack on the surface of the member W from the image, and calculates a depth L of the crack from a relation between the volume V of the crack and the area S calculated in the arithmetic operation apparatus 13. |
