The vibration damper (1) has a pendulum mass (8,8a) that is arranged along swing path of a rotatable support (5,5a). The pendulum mass is arranged eccentrically on a planet wheel (6a-6c) such that wheel supported around a rotary shaft (7) rotatably mounted on support is arranged in the form of a web in a planetary gear (2) and the planet wheel is in meshing engagement with a sun gear (3) or a ring gear (4) of planetary gear. The planet wheel is in meshing engagement by an external toothing (10a,10b) with a complementary profile (11,12) on sun gear or ring gear.
