PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source for an illumination which improves the heat radiation performance without deteriorating the assembly workability.SOLUTION: A light source for an illumination includes: an LED module 30; a bulb 10 having an opening 12a and in which the LED module 30 is positioned; a mouth piece 20 which receives electric power for causing the LED module 30 to emit light; and a radiator 40 which is fitted into the mouth piece 20 and has a cylindrical shape with a closed bottom. The LED module is supported by the radiator 40. The radiator 40 has an expansion part 42 formed at a portion which is fitted into the mouth piece 20. The opening 12a of the bulb 10 is inserted into a space between the mouth piece 20 and the radiator 40 and is fastened to at least one of the mouth piece 20 and the radiator 40.
