An acceleration sensor (180) is coupled to vehicle tire, to gather vibration information from vehicle tires in response to excitation of vehicle tire. A post-processing system is configured to receive vibration information from the acceleration sensor, and force information from force torque transmitting element (140). The post-processing system is configured to extract resonance frequencies of vibration and force information. An independent claim is included for method for characterizing vehicle.
