PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent large load from being transmitted to a body frame by dispersing the load if the load at the time of light collision is impressed from front direction with respect to a foot sweeping member which sweeps a leg portion of a pedestrian forward when the pedestrian is collided. SOLUTION: A pedestrian protecting device clamps a rear bracket 27 provided on a rear portion of the foot sweeping member 21 sweeping the leg portion forward to abutting surface 33b of the bracket of a bracket holder 32 fixed to a lower radiator panel 3b when the leg portion of the pedestrian is collided. The pedestrian protecting device can effectively protect the vehicle frame from being damaged by the load transmitted to a vehicle frame being dispersed because the abutting surface 33b of the bracket is adapted to slant backward and downward and the rear bracket 27 recedes backward and downward along the abutting surface 33b of the bracket of the bracket holder 32 when load of the light collision is impressed from the front direction with respect to the foot sweeping member 21.
