<p>A safety extension device for a ladder is provided. The safety extension device comprises a frame having a lower section for engaging the ladder and an upper section located above the lower section. The safety extension also comprises a clamping assembly mounted to the lower section of the frame, the clamping assembly having a lower and an upper ladder engaging support separated along the frame by a clamping distance. At least one of the ladder engaging supports is movable along the frame. The safety extension further comprises an actuation mechanism mounted to the upper section of the frame and connected to the movable support by a connecting member. The actuation mechanism is operable to move the movable support along the frame and thereby vary the clamping distance.</p> |
