The invention relates to an orthosis for functional exercise/assistance/recovery of the hand in a patient with sequelae from a cerebrovascular accident or other central effector lesions. According to the invention, the orthosis consists of two wire sides () flexed in certain points and fixed to each other by means of two sheet metal bent platbands () coated with a protective material (), the orthosis being fixed onto the forearm by means of two tapes (), on the direction of the thumb there being provided a thumb extension and abduction assisting system consisting of a wire (), a rubber band () and a ring () wherein the thumb is introduced, as well as two orthoses () for the index and middle finger, fixed by means of some other tapes ().
