The ball valve (40) has main portion (100) that is provided with through hole (120) inside which shutoff element (110) is held rotatably. Valve ports (150,170) in respective connection side (160,180) are separated while shutoff element is provided in closed position. The valve ports are located towards each other and flow passage (190) is formed while shut-off element is provided in opened position. A suction duct (300) is formed in connection side (160) for passage of fluid (330). A flow connection through suction duct is independent of position of shutoff element. An independent claim is included for a railway vehicle.
