The arm (1) has a central bearing center (2) adapted for pivotal mounting of the arm. A decompression area (13) is arranged at an end of a cam contact element (3). An adjusting device (4) is provided at an end of the arm. A U-shaped cross-section is produced by punching, bending, and deep drawing action from a sheet steel. A boss-shaped extension (5) is provided in a region of the bearing center, where the boss-shaped extension is produced by a deep-drawing process. The adjusting device is designed as a threaded dome (12), where the dome is made by an embossing process. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a rocker arm.
