摘要 A method for recognizing a vehicle using a frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar according to the present invention includes: a first step of sending a transmission signal having continuously modulated frequencies and receiving a reception signal reflected from a target; a second step of generating a bit frequency signal based on the transmission signal and the reception signal; a third step of extracting at least one or more peaks in a frequency area by applying a Fourier transformation to the bit frequency signal; a fourth step of selecting an effective peak located in a certain frequency range from a prediction bit frequency among the peaks; and a fifth step of recognizing the target by using the effective peak. The method for recognizing a target vehicle using tracking information according to the present invention can recognizes the vehicle by using only the signal existed within a certain range from the prediction bit frequency reverse-calculated using information of the distance and the relative velocity of the target vehicle which is previously maintained among the bit frequencies determined by the transmission signal and the reception signal and ensure, in advance, the signal for the actual target vehicle, thereby preventing the target vehicle from being unrecognized.
