The present invention relates to a remote metering system using a CATV network comprising a management server, a PLC modem, and an RF module. The management server receives a set of information for multiple channels of a cable TV network capable of transmitting and receiving data; monitors the communication state of the channels; and selects a channel capable of transmitting and receiving metering information. The PLC modem receives the metering information of each home through power line communication and transmits the data to the RF module. The RF module modulates the metering information which is a baseband signal to an RF signal used in the cable TV network and transmits the metering information to the management server through the channel selected by the management server. |
