摘要 PURPOSE: A time area signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation device for a wireless orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is provided to reduce overhead which is necessary for executing fast Fourier transform (FFT). CONSTITUTION: An SNR estimation device (300) comprises a cyclic prefix code elimination unit (310), a signal intensity estimation unit (330), a noise intensity estimator (340), and an SNR estimation unit (350). The cyclic prefix code elimination unit extracts the preamble eliminating the cyclic prefix code in a reception signal. The signal strength estimation unit estimates a signal strength in the time area by using the preamble. The noise strength estimation unit estimates the noise strength by reducing the signal strength in all signal strengths by using the preamble. The SNR estimation unit estimates the SNR by dividing the signal strength into the noise strengths.
