The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for managing information on businesses that a user frequently uses or is interested in by registering the companies as favorite stores in a user terminal. A method for managing favorite stores in a user terminal, according to one aspect of the present invention, comprises the steps of: extracting telephone numbers from the user terminal; distinguishing stores corresponding to the extracted telephone numbers by comparing the extracted telephone numbers to a business telephone number database; and setting the distinguished stores as favorite stores, and storing and displaying a list of the favorite stores independently of a default contact list stored in the user terminal.
