<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle anti-theft device capable of preventing vehicle theft by correctly eliminating unauthorized use of a third party in a smart entry system and the like.SOLUTION: In response to a request received from an in-vehicle unit 10, a portable device 20 such as an electronic key transmits an internally prestored ID code to the in-vehicle unit 10. When receiving the ID code from the portable device 20, the in-vehicle unit 10 mounted in a vehicle 40 collates the received ID code with an ID code prestored in the in-vehicle unit itself. If both IDs match with each other, the in-vehicle unit 10 obtains a current position of a portable device normally given the matched ID code and a current position of the in-vehicle unit itself by using a GPS function. If the current position of the portable device normally given the matched ID code exists within a prescribed range from the current position of the in-vehicle unit 10, a use of the vehicle 40 based on the matched ID code is permitted.</p> |
