PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving operation support device and a driving operation support method that can perform avoidance support without giving a driver sense of discomfort as possible.SOLUTION: When a driver avoidance operation specifying section 106 for specifying avoidance operation taken by a driver specifies only brake operation, and an avoidance control selecting section 107 for selecting a control method for performing avoidance support selects execution of both braking control and steering control, an avoidance control support amount calculating section 108 increases a support amount of the steering control with the lapse of time from an avoidance control start point (a point of time T1) to perform, for instance, steering intervention for gradually increasing the support amount of the steering control as possibility of change decreases in movement of a walker who is an obstacle. Sense of discomfort of the driver at intervention of avoidance control support is thereby reduced. |
