An hydraulic jet propulsion apparatus for waterborne vessels comprises a pump 15 which draws in water off 14 and expels it as a jet through the vertically pivoted steering device 21. A reversing deflector 24 which is pivotally mounted at 32 may be moved into and out of the path of the jet by the rod 33. The deflector 24 is substantially V-shaped in any crosssection which is taken transversely of the vessel. The rod 33 may be moved manually or by an hydraulic jack.</p> |
