An embodiment of the present invention relates to an automated manual transmission apparatus and a gear-shifting method thereof. A technical problem to solve is to reduce the gear-shifting time of an automated manual transmission. For the purpose, the gear-shifting method of the automated manual transmission apparatus, which can shift a gear from a first stage to a sixth stage, according to the present invention comprises the steps of: determining whether or not a gear has been shifted from a first stage to a second stage; moving a transmission finger in a shift direction by operating a shift motor if the gear has been shifted to the second stage; determining whether or not the transmission finger is placed in the middle in the shift direction; moving the transmission finger in a select direction corresponding to a third stage by operating a select motor if the transmission finger is placed in the middle in the shift direction; determining whether or not a third stage transmission signal has been received to shift the gear to the third stage; and shifting the gear to the third stage by operating the shift motor and moving the transmission finger in the shift direction if the third stage transmission signal has been received. |
